    You are taking on one of the great problems of our age (and probably all ages). There are several thoughts that eventually changed my mind from fear and prejudice to justice in favour of those whom our prejudices disadvantage. 1. People whose works I sang, works of great beauty – like Benjamin Britten. His life partner was Peter Pears. 2. People I knew with commitment and who had adopted troubled youths and have given them a home. 3. The gift of the Spirit that goes beyond our arguments. In Christ we are alive together. I cannot take the gift of Christ away from my brothers and sisters in my thoughts or actions. Eventually the problem is one of justice.
